Day by day itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at San Jose, Costa Rica. Transfer to hotel in San Jose. Hotel El Rodeo. Welcome to Costa Rica Arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport. After passing through Immigration you will be met by one of our representatives. He will take you to your hotel and give you your welcome kit. Overnight in San Jose City. El Rodeo Hotel, El Rodeo is a four-star Costa Rica country inn, located only 10 minutes away from the Juan Santamaría International Airport, and in the heart of the lastet, bustling business and commercial district, Santa Ana/San Antonio de Belen, and only 15 minutes away from downtown San José.
Day 02: Free day at San José. Hotel El Rodeo.
Day 03: Car pick up and Selfdrive or Transfer to the Caribean Coast, Puerto Viejo. Hotel Cariblue. Cocles Beach (awarded with the Costa Rican Government Blue Flag for clean beaches), South Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.
Day 04-05: Caribean Coast, Puerto Viejo. Hotel Cariblue. Relax at the laid-back Caribbean village of Puerto Viejo. Hike through the rainforest, go diving, or just relax!
Day 06: Selfdrive or Transfer to Sarapiquí La Tirimbina Rainforest Center. TRC is a tropical science resource and ecotourism destination located within the rainforest and river environments of Costa Rica. Highlighting biodiversity, ecological systems, conservation and education. The rich rainforest environment of TRC also provides a prime setting for exciting ecotourism activities.
Day 07: Selfdrive or Transfer to Arenal Volcano. Arenal Springs Hotel. The Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal lies within the Arenal Conservation Area, protecting eight of Costa Rica's 12 life zones and 16 protected reserves in the region between the Guanacaste and Tilarán mountain ranges, and including Lake Arenal. Arenal Volcano has been constantly active since it woke up after 400 years. One of the world's most active volcanos; Arenal produces huge ash columns, explosions and glowing red lava almost every day. Fascinating fauna and flora exist here in amazing quantities making this a prime location for viewing many many different species of both plants and animals.
Day 08: Arenal Volcano. Arenal Springs Hotel. Day 09: Selfdrive or Transfer to Monteverde, Hotel El Establo. The spectacular Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is a very important and popular ecotourism destination in Costa Rica. With its unique cloud canopy, this biological reserve located in Puntarenas province is 6 km east of the town of Santa Elena. Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most stunning and breathtaking nature reserves in the entire world. Unlike rainforests, cloud forests usually receive much less rain in comparison. However, because a cloud forest is situated at a higher altitude, it has more humidity and is therefore cloudier than a rainforest. This biological reserve sits at an elevation of between 1,200 m to 1,600 m, and is surrounded by a misty cover that supports a fantastic diversity of flora and fauna. Often creating a surreal environment, this reserve is considered to be among the most exceptional wildlife sanctuaries in the New World Tropics.
Day 10: Monteverde. Hotel El Establo. Optional activities. Birdwatching, Guided Natural History Walks, Canopy tours, Hanging Bridges, Horsebackriding,Coffee tours, among others.
Day 11: Selfdrive or Transfer to Tamarindo Beach. Tamarindo Diriá Beach & Golf Resort.
Located on the Northwestern shoreline of Costa Rica, Tamarindo is a charming fishing town of 1,000 inhabitants. The picturesque region opens a doorway to flat lands, green mountains and rich foliage. Because of the unique climate, the region boasts a tremendous diversity of terrain from dense rain forests to airy deciduous forests, towering active volcanoes to lush sugarcane fields, and thick lagoons to unburdened beaches. Hotel Tamarindo Diriá is set on the beach.
Day 12 -13: Free day Tamarindo Beach. Tamarindo Diriá Beach & Golf Resort.
Day 14: Selfdrive or Transfer to San José. Hotel El Rodeo Country Inn. Car drop off. at hotel.
Day 15: Transfer to International Airport.
