Canopy Tour, Los Sueños

This canopy tour is designed not only as an extreme adventure, but also as a way to enjoy nature without harming the environment. You can enjoy spectacular views of the Herradura Bay and Island as well as the Nicoya Gulf. Within the property you will have the opportunity to spot scarlet macaws, chest nut mandible toucans and white-face monkeys. The adventure starts with a 15 minutes ride aboard the specially designed 40 passenger tractor. Once you arrive at the top of the mountain, you then descend to the bottom sliding down a series of zip lines. You will pass by 15 platforms and 14 cables with a total cable distance of 3.5 kilometers including the longest cable in the area with a length of 2400 feet!

Canyoning

Canyoning or Canyoneering is an exciting multi-sport adventure that is gaining popularity amongst the masses. You will enjoy a combination of Ziplining, Waterfall Rappelling, and Hiking along with optional Swimming and Cliff Jumping as high as 25 feet. Canyoning is no longer just for die hard adventurers and expert climbers anymore. At Jaco Canyoning you have the opportunity to experience true Canyoning even if you have never been in a harness.

 

Just 20 minutes from Jaco and you will arrive at your base to start your adventure. After fueling up with an authentic Costa Rican meal let’s hop in a 4×4 safari vehicles and drive up the mountain over 1000′ to get to a private reserve. Your guide will stop along the way to point out interesting flora and fauna and the incredible views of the ocean and countryside. When you arrive at the top you will be outfitted with latest and safest gear from Black Diamond. You will be instructed on the safe and proper use of our equipment then begin your 5-minute hike to the first zipline. After 2 “zips” over the river we will do a dry training rappel to familiarize you with the proper technique. A short hike down river and you will have some swimming and cliff jumping (4-25′) opportunities if you desire! Now it is time to get wet! 4 rappels through the waterfalls and You will do it all on your own. At all times you will be “safe and backed up” by your guides! After a short climb up you will exit the canyon and hike 15-20 minutes back to the truck.

Carara National Park

The tour operator will provide transportation that will pick you up at your lodging establishment and take you to Carara National Park. This incredible protected area measures about 4,700 hectares and is home to approximately 48% of Costa Rica’s aviary species. On this tour you will learn the importance of this region as it is situated in a transitional region between the tropical dry forest and the humid pacific rainforest. Your trip showcases colorful species of flora and fauna living in a varied ecosystem. You will be able to spot the scarlet macaw, collared aracai and various monkey specimens. Jungle River & Crocodile Adventure

This crazy adrenaline adventure takes you through the marvelous wonders of our rainforest. You will explore the Tárcoles River flowing along the stunning pacific coast. Your guide will point out different kinds of mammals, birds and reptiles that flourish in this mangrove system. Depending on the season you will be able to spot different migratory aviary species.
